The Junior Automation Engineer supports the design, development, and implementation of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and intelligent automation solutions under the guidance of senior team members. This role focuses on hands-on technical tasks, learning automation platforms, and contributing to process improvement projects. The incumbent will work closely with Senior and Lead Automation Engineers, participate in solution delivery, and develop foundational skills in RPA, scripting, and automation best practices.

Responsibilities

• Support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of automation scripts and workflows under supervision
• Assist in the design, creation, execution, and maintenance of automated test scripts to ensure system functionality and reliability
• Learn, apply, and support the use of automation tools and technologies (eg, UiPath, Blue Prism, Power Automate) in line with team standards and best practices
• Participate in quality assurance activities, including system testing, defect identification, logging, and tracking
• Adhere to secure coding standards, data protection requirements, and organisational compliance policies during automation development
• Monitor the performance of automated systems and scripts, identify inefficiencies or bottlenecks, and support optimisation of execution time and resource usage
• Communicate progress, challenges, and risks effectively to team members and relevant stakeholders

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• Entry-level RPA certifications such as UiPath RPA Associate, Blue Prism Foundation, or Microsoft Power Automate are advantageous
• Basic knowledge of Python, Java, or
• NET is a plus
• 1–2 years of experience in RPA development or software automation, with exposure to process automation, scripting, or software testing considered beneficial
• Experience working in cross-functional teams through internships, academic projects, or entry-level roles
• Experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment is advantageous but not essential
